The Oyonnax company FPSA (Fonderie et Plasturgie Seignemartin Associés) has speeded up its development in the medical sector, investing in new dedicated production tools.
In order to improve its know-how in plastics injection, the company has acquired high technology equipment that combines an e-motion range hybrid injection press from the Austrian constructor Engel with a Speed Entry robot, provided by Sepro.
The set-up of this new production line represents an investment between 400 000 and 500 000 Euros, injection tool included. Start-up is planned for this autumn.
The production line insures constant quality and will allow FPSA to be even more responsive and flexible, in particular by shortening delivery times for medical devices to customers all over Europe.
In recent years, FPSA has shown its commitment to the medical field with its acquisition of production tools : a production line that includes an Engel injection press and a Stäubli robot was installed in 2014, with start-up of activity planned for the beginning of 2015.
More recently, the company has incorporated a six-axis robot from the Stäubli constructor onto one of its injection presses. This cell is dedicated to the production of medical devices.
FPSA has an annual turnover of around 20 million Euros, coming mainly from the automotive sector (40%), followed by technical parts (30%) and the medical sector (25%).
The remaining 5% comes from the child care sector.
